Context

Africa CDC required stronger institutional information systems, documentation workflows, service operations, and a coherent MIS function to support continental public-health operations.

Challenge

Paper-heavy approvals and registry processes, fragmented applications, and limited divisional capacity constrained efficiency, auditability, and digital service delivery.

Role and contribution

Senior Systems and Technology Officer; Ag. MIS Division Team Lead (2023–2024); Software Development Team Lead.

Approach

Built the MIS operating model, led systems delivery, and advanced enterprise platforms for registry, approvals, intranet/document management, help desk, and related institutional workflows—while establishing policy, continuity, and team capacity.

Technical leadership contribution to CDR architecture, hosting model, security controls, interoperability patterns, documentation, and operational readiness.

Participated in technical working groups and co-design processes defining architecture, integration patterns, governance, and go-live readiness—while supporting documentation, SOPs, and partner coordination.

Planned and executed tenant migration for Microsoft 365 and related infrastructure services; established monitoring, domain/SSL administration, continuity protocols, and security policy controls.

Challenge

Fragmented workforce data, limited digital tools for duty rostering and attendance, and uneven district capacity constrained planning and supervision.

Progressive informatics roles from developer to Ag. Head of Informatics and Database & Informatics Manager across IntraHealth and IDI-UHSS.

Approach

Customized and scaled iHRIS nationally, built complementary systems for duty roster and biometric attendance, integrated with DHIS2, and trained thousands of district users.

Paper-based attendance and rostering limited accountability, supervision, and timely workforce visibility.

Led design and implementation of duty roster and biometric attendance solutions integrated with broader HRIS ecosystems.

Built mobile biometric attendance and duty roster systems, linked them to national digital health platforms, and shared the approach through professional forums.
